Margaretmary Darling A-GNP-C

Nurse Practitoner

Nurse Practitioner, Margaretmary “Meg” Darling was born and raised here in Staten Island, NY. She grew up in West Brighton and moved to southern California after high school. While living there and working in retail management, her father passed away from a serious chronic illness. This inspired her to make a change in career to become a nurse. This wasn’t surprising, since it’s practically in her blood. She comes from a family of nurses: her mother, three aunts, and her grandmother. On 08/08/2008, she started her road trip across the country and enrolled in the College of Staten Island the day after she arrived back home. She soon earned acceptance to CSI’s competitive nursing program which changed her values, beliefs, and worldview for good. NP Darling worked in community health nursing while she pursued both her Baccalaureate and Master of Science degrees. During these years, she developed a passion for helping the homebound and chronically ill. In 2017, she became certified as an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner and began her career as a nurse practitioner doing house calls for the frail, elderly, and physically impaired. During this time, she also enjoyed precepting future nurse practitioners. In 2019, she decided to leave her office-on-wheels and found a home for herself here at Dr Scafuri’s office where she provides care for patients aged 18 and up. NP Darling works 4-5 days a week among all three locations. She is currently a preceptor for the College of Staten Island’s A-GNP program and enjoys teaching her students. NP Darling resides on the North Shore of Staten Island and is a lover of music, nature, and Bravo TV. In her free time, she can be found bike riding, decorating her home, and buying things she “needs” from the Container Store, Pier1 Imports, or Amazon. Now that Big Bang Theory and Game of Thrones series have both ended, she is using her time studying to become a FMCSA certified medical examiner for CMV drivers.
